What is the difference between installed, ready and enabled?

Installed means the code is present. Ready means its required setup checks pass. Enabled means the site is allowed to use it.

Three separate states

A module can be installed but not ready because a setting or dependency is missing. It can also be ready but intentionally disabled.

Finish setup, resolve readiness warnings, then enable the module when you actually want its public or administrator features active.
