Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: September 19, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how FreeholdCMS.com handles information when you browse the website, create a customer account, download software, place an order or request support. It applies to FreeholdCMS.com itself. A separate website running a customer-installed copy of Freehold CMS is controlled by that website's operator and is not governed by this policy merely because it uses Freehold CMS software.
1. Information we may collect
Account information. When you register, we may process your email address, account identifiers, verification status, password-derived authentication data and security/session information needed to operate the account.
Order and license information. For purchases we may process products, quantities, prices, currency, order status, transaction references, download entitlements, license records and related fulfillment history.
Support information. If you contact support or submit a ticket, we process the information you provide, which may include messages, diagnostic details and attachments you intentionally submit.
Technical and security information. The website and hosting environment may process IP-derived or hashed security information, request timestamps, browser/request information, rate-limit records, audit records and server logs needed for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and reliable operation.
Payment information. Hosted payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal process payment credentials on their systems. FreeholdCMS.com may receive provider transaction identifiers, merchant references, payment status, amount, currency and limited reconciliation information. The FreeholdCMS.com checkout is not intended to store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
2. How information is used
We use information to operate and secure accounts; verify email addresses; maintain carts, orders, receipts, downloads and licenses; provide requested support; prevent fraud and abuse; reconcile payments; maintain audit and accounting records; diagnose failures; comply with legal obligations; and improve reliability of the website and products.
3. Free Core downloads
When Free Core is offered as a no-account download, the Store does not require a customer account or payment method for that download. Ordinary web-server and security logs may still record technical request information.
4. Cookies and local session data
FreeholdCMS.com uses cookies or comparable browser storage when necessary for sessions, authentication, cart continuity, security and related site operation. We do not need advertising cookies to operate the purchasing flow described by this policy.
5. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with service providers that are necessary to operate the website or fulfill a transaction, such as hosting, email delivery and supported payment providers; with professional advisers when reasonably necessary; or when disclosure is required by law, court order, fraud prevention, security response or protection of legal rights. We do not sell customer personal information to advertisers.
6. Retention
Account, order, payment-reconciliation, license, security and support records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including fulfillment, support, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, security, backup and legal obligations. Retention can differ by record type. Records that must remain accurate for transaction, license or security history may be retained even after ordinary account information is no longer needed.
7. Security
FreeholdCMS.com uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the systems it operates, including access controls, verification, protected storage and security logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, card security codes or unrestricted provider credentials through support messages.
8. Your choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about personal information associated with your account, request correction of inaccurate information, or ask about deletion or other rights available under applicable law. Some transaction, security, license or accounting records may need to be retained where deletion would conflict with legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute records or the integrity of completed transactions.
9. Children
FreeholdCMS.com is intended for people able to purchase and administer website software. It is not directed to young children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children who cannot lawfully consent to the relevant processing.
10. International use
Visitors may access the website from different jurisdictions. Information may be processed where Freehold CMS and its service providers operate. Applicable privacy rights can vary by location.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when website functionality, providers or legal requirements change. The posted effective date identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively unless applicable law requires another treatment.
12. Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the Freehold CMS Help Center or emailed to support@freeholdcms.com.
