Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: September 19, 2026.
These Terms of Service govern use of FreeholdCMS.com, customer accounts, the Store, downloads, support requests and purchases made directly through FreeholdCMS.com. Freehold CMS is operated by Jeffery L. Paris. Questions about these terms may be sent to support@freeholdcms.com.
1. Website and software are separate
FreeholdCMS.com is the website used to describe, distribute and support Freehold CMS software. Freehold CMS itself is self-hosted software installed on hosting selected and controlled by the customer. Hosting companies, domain registrars, email services, payment processors and other outside providers are separate services with their own terms, fees and responsibilities.
2. Accounts
A verified customer account may be required for paid checkout, receipts, order history, protected downloads and support tied to a purchase. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting access to your email account and credentials, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized account use.
3. Products, prices and orders
The Store page for a product identifies the current price, included software, dependencies and other material purchase information. Prices shown at checkout are the prices charged for that order unless a clear pricing error is detected before payment is accepted. Applicable taxes or provider charges may be added when required and will be disclosed through the checkout process or payment provider.
An order is not complete merely because a browser is redirected to or from a payment provider. Paid access is created only after Freehold CMS receives and verifies the required payment result.
4. Software licenses
Freehold CMS software is licensed, not sold. The controlling software-use terms are the EULA or license file supplied with the applicable package together with the purchase record and product-specific terms shown at purchase. Those documents control matters such as permitted installations, modification, backups, redistribution and license scope. Purchasing software does not transfer copyright or ownership of the software code.
Free Core may be distributed at no charge under its included license. Commercial modules and bundles require the applicable commercial license.
5. Digital delivery
Free Core may be offered as a direct public download. Paid digital products are delivered through protected customer access after verified payment. You are responsible for maintaining reasonable backups of legitimately downloaded packages and for installing software only on compatible systems.
6. Requirements and dependencies
Before purchasing or installing software, review the published product requirements, dependencies and compatibility information. A bundle may include multiple module packages that must be installed in a stated order. Self-hosted software can also depend on PHP, database, web-server, email, file-system or third-party provider capabilities outside Freehold CMS control.
7. Updates, installation and support
Update, installation-assistance and support rights are only those stated in the product page, purchase record, supplied license or other written terms applicable to the purchase. No website statement should be read as creating an unlimited or perpetual support obligation unless the controlling purchase terms expressly say so.
8. Refunds and order problems
Refunds and digital-delivery issues are governed by the Refund & Digital Delivery Policy. That policy is incorporated into these Terms for direct Store purchases.
9. Acceptable use of this website
Do not misuse FreeholdCMS.com, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operation, probe or exploit security controls, submit malicious content, abuse support channels, impersonate another person, or use the site to violate applicable law or the rights of others.
10. Third-party services
When checkout uses Stripe, PayPal or another supported provider, payment credentials and hosted payment interactions are handled by that provider under its own terms and privacy practices. Freehold CMS may receive transaction references, payment status and other information needed to reconcile an order, but the FreeholdCMS.com checkout is not intended to collect full card numbers or card security codes.
11. Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, suspend or discontinue website features, products or future sales when reasonably necessary. Previously purchased license rights remain governed by the applicable purchase record and license. Material changes to these Terms apply prospectively from the posted update unless applicable law requires otherwise.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and software are provided subject to the warranties, exclusions and limitations stated in the applicable software license and purchase terms. Self-hosted operation necessarily depends on systems, configuration and third-party services outside Freehold CMS control. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Freehold CMS is not responsible for losses caused solely by third-party hosting, payment-provider outages, customer modifications, unsupported environments, credentials under the customer's control, or failure to maintain reasonable backups. Any additional limitation of liability applicable to software use is stated in the supplied license. Mandatory consumer or statutory rights are not waived.
14. Contact
Questions about an order, account or these Terms may be submitted through the Freehold CMS Help Center or emailed to support@freeholdcms.com.
