How do I move an existing website to Freehold CMS?

Plan the move by content type, test imports before publishing and keep the old site available until the new records and URLs have been checked.

Migration is more than copying pages

  1. Inventory the old site: pages, posts, products, accounts, media and URLs.
  2. Decide which Freehold CMS module owns each kind of record.
  3. Use supported migration tools where they fit.
  4. Stage and review imported data before publishing it.
  5. Plan redirects for important old URLs.
  6. Keep a rollback copy until the new site has been verified.
