What is a payment webhook?

A webhook is a signed provider-to-site message that reports a payment event even when the customer's browser is no longer on the checkout page.

Provider confirmation matters

Configure the exact HTTPS webhook address shown in Payment Settings for the matching Stripe or PayPal environment. The site verifies provider messages before using them as payment evidence.

Do not mark an order paid merely because a customer returned to the site or because an unsigned request reached the webhook URL.
