What are background jobs and why does cron matter?

Background jobs let Freehold CMS finish queued work such as reconciliation, fulfillment, receipts or provider submissions outside the visitor's page request.

The scheduler is the worker

Configure the site's documented cron/jobs.php runner at the required interval and monitor failed or retrying jobs. Do not create duplicate cron entries for the same installation because two workers can make troubleshooting harder.
