What does a domain or installation activation represent?
An activation links a license to an allowed installation identity such as the domain or other identifier used by the licensed client.

Do not guess at activation identity
Use the identifier defined by the licensed product and the Product Licensing policy. Administrators can review individual activations and license status without needing the customer's password.
